Diabetes mellitus is a common disease among children whether due to inherited or noninherited causes.

This disease has three stages, the family has to notice and take the child to the specialized doctor to identify if he suffers from diabetes or not, as many of this disease symptoms could be misdiagnosed as other diseases:
  1. Child shows enuresis and loss of weight with easy exhaustion.
  2. Continuous dyspnea.
  3. Recurrent fainting and coma.

Types of diabetes affecting children:
  1. Type: affects both children and adults and is insulin dependent.
  2. Type: usually affects adults and is insulin independent.
